How to use the AI Search Visibility

AI search visibility tracks where your brand shows up across AI answer engines and how often you're cited versus competitors — connecting your backlink authority to the citations that increasingly drive discovery.

Want the overview first? See the AI Search Visibility feature page

Where to find it

Dashboard → Authority → the AI search visibility table (and the AI mentions metric card).

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open the Authority page

AI search visibility lives alongside your authority data. Scroll to the 'AI search visibility' table.

  2. 2

    Review mentions by engine

Each row shows the engine (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, Claude, or Gemini), the query, your position, whether you were cited, and the date — so you can see exactly where you appear.

  3. 3

    Compare share of answer

Use the AI mentions metric and the per-query rows to gauge how often you're cited versus rivals for the prompts your buyers actually ask.

  4. 4

    Close the gaps

Where a competitor is cited and you aren't, treat it as a content-and-links task: strengthen the relevant page and earn editorial links to it, then watch whether citations follow.

Tips & guardrails

  • Answer engines tend to cite sources with clear authority — improving your ethical backlink profile supports AI visibility.
  • Focus on the prompts most relevant to your buyers, not vanity queries.
  • Treat a missing mention as a measurable goal, the same way you treat a backlink target.
