How to use the Backlink Goal Tracker
The goal tracker turns an authority ambition into a concrete, trackable number. You analyze your domain against a live authority source, set a target, and watch progress bars and the authority trend move over time.

Where to find it
Dashboard → Overview (the domain analyzer and the interactive authority goal) and Dashboard → Goals (progress bars and the authority trend chart).
Step by step

Open the dashboard and analyze your domain
From the Overview page, type your domain into the analyzer bar and click Analyze. BacklinkGoals fetches live authority data (via the configured provider, e.g. Moz) and fills the metric cards — authority, referring domains, backlinks, and spam score.

Set your target authority
In the Authority goal card, enter the authority score you want to reach. The progress bar and the 'gap to goal' number update instantly against your current, live authority so you always know how far you have to go.

Review your monthly / quarterly targets
Open Goals from the sidebar. The Domain authority and Referring domains progress bars show current vs. goal, and the authority chart plots your trend month over month so you can prove momentum.

Adjust as you win links
As referring domains grow, re-analyze your domain to refresh the numbers. The gap shrinks and the trend line moves up — that is your evidence the plan is working.
Tips & guardrails
- Track referring domains, not raw link count — one quality domain beats ten links from the same site.
- Set a realistic timeframe. Authority moves in months, not days; pace your monthly target accordingly.
- Hitting a backlink goal supports rankings but never guarantees them — treat targets as a planning tool.

Backlink Goal Tracker — questions
The dashboard analyzer calls a live authority provider (Moz or Open PageRank, depending on server configuration). If no provider is configured, the metric cards show a dash instead of a number.
