How to use the Authority Tracker
The authority tracker brings the health of your backlink profile into one view — authority and referring-domain trends, anchor text diversity, link-quality mix, and a log of lost links so you can catch problems early.

Where to find it
Dashboard → Authority.
Step by step
- 1
Read your authority and referring-domain trends
The two charts at the top plot authority and referring domains over time. A line moving up and to the right is the momentum you want to report.
- 2
Check anchor text diversity
The anchor diversity breakdown shows your mix of branded, URL, and descriptive anchors. A natural profile keeps exact-match anchors low — watch for anything that skews heavily one way.
- 3
Scan link quality and lost links
Review the link-quality distribution (strong / average / risky) and the Lost backlinks table, which logs links that went 404, were removed, or turned nofollow — each with a reason.
- 4
Act on what you find
Turn a lost high-value link into a recovery task (a friendly reminder or a fresh replacement target), and rebalance anchors by varying how new links are earned.
Tips & guardrails
- A healthy anchor mix looks natural — heavy exact-match anchors can read as manipulative.
- Prioritize recovering lost links from high-authority, relevant sites first.
- Use the trend, not a single snapshot, to judge progress — authority is noisy month to month.

FAQ
Authority Tracker — questions
In the dashboard, authority is pulled from a live provider on demand. Trend history and lost-link tracking populate as monitoring runs on your plan's schedule.
A previously live backlink that now returns a 404, was removed from the page, redirected off-site, or switched to nofollow. Each is logged with a reason.
